Sunfrost Photography
The name Sunfrost Photography was born one spring day at Birch Lake, Alaska many years ago. The air was crisp, the lake still edged with thick ice, and the sun was shining bright overhead. That mix of cold and warmth—the contrast of frost and sunlight—brought a sense of calm I hadn’t felt in a long time. As I stepped out of the cabin my family had rented for the weekend, camera in hand, I felt completely grounded. In that moment, I told myself if I ever did get to have a photography business I would call it Sunfrost Photography.
For years, I kept telling myself, 'I'm not good enough to do this,' and pushed it aside—until one day, I looked in the mirror and realized that the only thing standing between me and my dream was myself. That was the day I decided Sunfrost Photography was going to become a reality.
Now, through Sunfrost Photography, I aim to capture those quiet, powerful moments where emotion and environment meet—where light and landscape tell a story. Whether it's the serenity of a frozen lake or the warmth of the sun cutting through morning fog, I try to hold on to authentic emotions through my photos.
Hi, I'm Kimberly, the person behind Sunfrost Photography. I'm originally from Fairbanks, and someone who feels most at home in the quiet, rugged beauty of the outdoors. Whether it's hiking through the mountains, fishing the Klutina river, or sitting by a campfire after a long day of hunting, I find peace in being present and connected to the people and land around me.
I'm now based in Anchorage, Alaska, and I love capturing the small, meaningful details that help tell your story. In my family, photographs have always held deep value—they preserve memories, mark moments in time, and often become part of a lasting legacy. I specialize in engagement, elopement, and micro wedding photography, creating space for genuine moments that reflect who you are and what matters most to you.
